Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel (27) could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer amid interest from Chelsea and Newcastle United, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Reports in England have suggested that Chelsea will not look to further strengthen their goalkeeping options this summer. The London club already have Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen in their roster, whilst Djordje Petrovic and Mike Penders are returning from loan spells and are expected to be evaluated by Enzo Maresca this summer.

Petrovic in particular is coming off a strong loan spell at RC Strasbourg Alsace. However, it appears that Chelsea are still sounding out the goalkeeper market. Foot Mercato understands that Chelsea have enquired about Kobel, who could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The publication adds that Newcastle United are also interested in the Switzerland international with the goalkeeper’s agent expected in London in the coming days to have talks with Premier League sides.
