Chelsea will step into the summer transfer window with an attacking signing their priority.

They have struggled in attack at times this season and the fact that they were considering a move for Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho in the January transfer window shows that manager Enzo Maresca feels that there is a need to add more depth and quality to the squad in wide positions.

According to Antena 2, Chelsea are considering an audacious move for Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz.

The Colombian has been one of the most important players for Arne Slot’s side this season and he has helped the club to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.

Diaz has scored 12 goals for the Reds in 31 appearances in all competitions and his ability to not only score goals but to create for his teammates has been a huge asset for Slot and his side.

However, with the attacker facing contract problems at the club after failing to agree a new deal at Anfield, Chelsea are ready to use that opportunity to test the waters and make a move for Diaz.

The Blues are ready to make Diaz one of the best paid players at the club in order to lure him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Liverpool would do everything to make sure that the player stays at the club and continues under Slot as he is a key member of the Slot project at the club.

A move for Anfield to Stamford Bridge would remind most fans of Fernando Torres and Raul Meireles in the past, who both left Liverpool to join Chelsea.

Despite being a regular member of the Liverpool starting line up, Diaz has been linked with moves away from the club.

Barcelona and Manchester City have been linked with a move for the Reds star in the past and the longer he fails to agree a new deal at the club, the more clubs will get encouragement to sign him.
