Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has missed out on the award for England Men’s Player of the Year for 2023/24.

The Blancos midfielder was considered the front-runner for the prize, owing to his stellar debut campaign in Spanish football.

Bellingham is fresh off a season which saw him rack up 23 goals and 13 assists across 42 appearances in all competitions, playing a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s domestic and European double.

Not only that, but the 21-year-old was recognised by way of the La Liga Player of the Year award.

All of this, however, was not enough to earn Bellingham the accolade for the standout English player for last season.

As revealed an announcement across the website and social media platforms of the Three Lions, Chelsea star Cole Palmer has instead been voted the nation’s Player of the Year.

Midfielder Palmer finished ahead of Bellingham in 2nd, with Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka having rounded out the podium places in 3rd.
