Chemsdine Talbi proving to be one to watch as teenager shines in Champions League win over Atalanta | OneFootball

Following Club Brugge’s dramatic and somewhat controversial win over Atalanta, 19-year-old winger Chemsdine Talbi was given the Man of the Match award. The winger put in a great performance as the Belgian side took a 2-1 victory in the first leg of their Champions League clash with the Serie A side. It was Talbi who provided the assist for the opening goal as he ran the Italian side ragged on the right hand side.

This has been a breakout season for the teenager who will no doubt be starting to appear on the scouting lists of a number of clubs in Europe’s top five leagues. In 30 games for the side so far he has scored five goals and grabbed three assists. Club saw Andreas Skov Olsen move to the Bundesliga in the January window, a big loss but one that has been mitigated somewhat by the emergence of Talbi. In some instances head coach Nicky Hayen has preferred to start Talbi over the Danish international.

With the season entering the business end, Club are still in with a shot at the domestic double. They made the cup final and are only six points behind leaders Genk. Talbi may well have a major part to play in their chances of silverware by the end of the campaign.
