Chuba Akpom undergoes Lille medical | OneFootball

AFC Ajax striker Chuba Akpom (29) is closing in on a move to Lille OSC, L’Equipe understands. The Nigerian international has reportedly undertaken a medical with Les Dogues this Saturday morning. Akpom is expected to attend Lille’s home Ligue 1 game tonight against relegation-battling AS Saint-Etienne. The 29-year-old will join Bruno Genesio’s Champions League-playing squad on loan with an option to make his move to Stade Pierre-Mauroy permanent.

Lille intended to shake up Genesio’s attacking options for the second part of the season as centre-forward Mohamed Bayo will be allowed to join Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp FC. The former Arsenal academy product was previously targeted by EFL Championship side Sunderland. Lille’s bitter Nord rivals RC Lens were also linked with Akpom. L’Equipe adds that Lille target Anis Hadj Moussa is set to remain at Feyenoord.
