CM: ‘Nothing being done’ – how Furlani’s words have shook Milan

For months now, AC Milan have been rumoured to be hiring a sporting director. However, nothing has happened yet.
There is a real irony to the current situation at Milan, and in many ways, it is something that only the Rossoneri could do so poorly. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gerry Cardinale seemingly had wrapped up a decision with Igli Tare, but then Giorgio Furlani shook things up.
Now, a change in power and two months later, the Diavolo are no more advanced than they initially were and the appointment of Tare looks most probable, given no one else wants the job, meaning there is a ‘legitimate doubt’, as worded by Calciomercato.com, that the choices are not backed 100% internally.
Tony D’Amico, despite repeated setbacks, is still Furlani’s preference, but with his arrival becoming more difficult to navigate, the CEO admitted that there is a chance that no sporting director arrives, another curveball.
Of course, an incoming has to be the right fit, but you can’t help but feel that nothing is being done, despite extreme measures being taken to try this method.
Put simply, Milan wanted a sporting director through the door by Easter, we are three weeks past that date and nothing has happened. This is all starting to feel like a massive waste of time and resources, and the Rossoneri are no closer to an end decision.
