Real Madrid secured a crucial advantage in the Copa del Rey semifinals after emerging victorious against Real Sociedad.
The match saw the Madrid side take the lead in the first half, thanks to a well-taken goal by Endrick. However, what started as a night of celebration ended with a major worry for Carlo Ancelotti and his squad.
As the match drew to a close, Real Madrid suffered a significant setback when Dani Ceballos was forced off the pitch due to an injury.
The midfielder endured a strong challenge from Take Kubo, which left him in visible pain. The impact of the tackle affected both his thigh and knee, making it impossible for him to continue.
Since Real Madrid had already exhausted all their substitutions, the team had no choice but to finish the match with ten players. Ceballos, overwhelmed by the situation, left the field in tears, a concerning sight for both his teammates and fans.
According to reports Real Madrid Confidencial, there are initial fears that the Spanish midfielder may have sustained a biceps femoris injury.

If confirmed, the typical recovery period for such an issue ranges between three to four weeks, depending on how well the player responds to treatment.
Furthermore, journalist Edu Aguirre has stated that by the looks of it, the injury seemed really serious. The sensations are really bad and if confirmed, he could be out for months.
The sight of Ceballos struggling to put weight on his leg as he was helped off the field did little to ease concerns. Given the way he reacted, it is likely that he could face a spell on the sidelines, which would be a blow for Ancelotti’s plans.
With Real Madrid already dealing with a demanding schedule, losing another midfield option at this stage of the season would add further complications.
A final verdict on Ceballos’s condition will only be known once the club releases an official medical report.
However, if the injury turns out to be as serious as feared, it seems highly unlikely that he will recover in time to feature against Real Betis this weekend.
For now, Real Madrid can celebrate their victory, but the uncertainty surrounding Ceballos’s fitness has undoubtedly cast a shadow over what should have been a completely positive night for Ancelotti’s men.
