The Lamine Yamal hype train is showing no signs of slowing down. Ever since he launched himself into the public eye in the summer with his performances at the Euros in Germany, nobody has stopped talking about the young Barcelona prodigy.

But the 17-year-old could very nearly not have been a Barcelona player right now, as club official Enric Masip’s appearance on El Chiringuito seemed to allude to a potential move this past summer.

Masip revealed on a podcast that PSG had submitted a €250 million offer to Barcelona to secure the signature of the hottest teenager in football.

‘Well, when you have money and you have the means to pay for it, then you can aspire to try to sign anyone.’ Masip shared to host Josep Pedrerol.

This move could have very well shaken up the entire footballing market had it gone through, as never before have we seen these kinds of figures thrown around for teenage players.

Given its precarious financial situation, the club will likely have at least considered this hefty offer.

Could you imagine just how different the football landscape would look right now if this move had become a reality back in the summer?

PSG have since denied that any such offer was made, but there is no way of knowing who to believe.
