Difficult for Newcastle United fans to take – First time since January

Back to back Premier League defeats, difficult to take when Newcastle United fans haven’t experienced this since January this year.

The two teams to do this to us nearly ten months ago, were Liverpool and then Man City.

Some Newcastle United fans have went into full panic mode, questioning every decision and even speculating whether Eddie Howe has lost the dressing room.

Press and fans chatting about players being unsettled and will look for Champions League football etc etc.

Make no mistake, it’s a difficult period for Eddie Howe’s Newcastle, but one I am confident they will come out of it.

A lack of goals and looking a little exposed at the back. Is it any wonder, given how long our strikers have been out for and also arguably one of the league’s best central defenders in Sven Botman.

These players would be doing well to remember what Eddie and the club have given them, our fans would do well to remember where the club has come from under Eddie Howe.

FFP/PSR will naturally hold Newcastle back and will likely continue to do so for some time.

As a club, we have no doubt been overachieving on the pitch and I’d guess we will also overachieve come the end of the season.

The reality is that all Premier League clubs are stronger, we are no different. Yes, the club’s owners are mega rich, but the reality is that we are in the same boat as the teams around us in the league table as it stands.

The last two performances have showed glimmers of what we have become used to watching and on another day we could have taken at least a point from each game.

Keep the faith!
