Paulo Dybala will undergo surgery on his semitendinosus tendon next week, and according to Gazzetta, he won’t return to action this season.

Dybala’s season is already over. The Argentinean will be forced to undergo surgery after suffering a severe tendon injury in a game against Cagliari last week.

The striker and the club confirmed on Thursday that a medical operation was needed.

Gazzetta reported that the surgery would be performed abroad (Switzerland, Finland or the USA) on Monday or Tuesday, forcing Dybala to the sidelines for at least two months.

This means that the striker won’t return to action before the end of the season, making his next appearance in a competitive match in 2025-26.

Dybala was initially thought to remain out of action for circa one month, but internal discussions with Roma’s medical staff convinced the player to undergo surgery as conservative therapy may not have solved the issue entirely.

Dybala has eight goals and four assists in 36 appearances across all competitions this season.
