Inter Miami are in the midst of a new trend emerging in the early doors of the 2025 MLS season after they are, once again, reduced to ten men.
Despite enjoying an unbeaten start to the new campaign under new manager Javier Mascherano, the Herons have seen both Tomas Aviles and Ian Fray march off in both previous fixtures, though Fray's was ultimately overturned after a successful appeal.
Now, goalkeeper Óscar Ustari will add his name to the list of red card recipients after receiving his marching orders from Guido Gonzalez in the 38th minute after bringing down Wilfried Zaha outside of the box.
Despite VAR reviewing the passage of play, Gonzalez's on-pitch ruling remained.
Given that Miami only received four red cards across the entire 2024 MLS campaign, Mascherano will no doubt have to be careful if The Herons are to avoid being typecast under his tenure.
As things stand, Mascherano's men have the same number of red cards as the rest of the league combined, with the season not yet through a full month of play.
