Enzo Maresca’s plans for Mathys Tel detailed as Blues offer assurances to attacker | OneFootball

Enzo Maresca and Chelsea have reportedly been busy offering assurances to Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel as they try to sign him late on.

Things have been so quiet on the transfer front for Chelsea right now, but it looks like they are now trying to make a last ditch attempt at signing a new attacker this window.

Tel of course, can play wide on the left or as a number 9, which means he can give Chelsea plenty of options. But so far, he has not been keen on joining The Blues due to fears over a lack of playing time.

Chelsea obviously have Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu who play as a striker, as well as Christopher Nkunku who fills in there too. Then out on the left they have a number of winger options that includes Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto. So the competition is expected to be pretty fierce.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are in active conversations over the signing of Tel and they have moved quickly to reassure his fears.

Maresca apparently wants to bring him in as a versatile option who will see plenty of minutes on the pitch.

Tel wants to know he will play and that is what Chelsea are trying to convince him will happen.

Sounds like Chelsea are doing all they can to try and convince Tel to join them, but it’s not going to be easy with real competition coming in for him now as well.

The same report above mentions serious interest and moves being made by both Tottenham and Manchester United in attempts to sign Tel. So this one could go down to the wire and become a real saga.
