Europa League bracket: Roma and Lazio opposite paths, Mourinho looms | OneFootball

Roma and Lazio have been placed on the opposite side of the Europa League bracket, but the Giallorossi will face their ex-coach José Mourinho if they beat Athletic Club and Mou’s Fenerbahce eliminate Rangers.

Roma and Lazio learned their opponents in the Europa League Round of 16 on Friday.

The Rome-based clubs could have met in the last-16 phase, but they avoided a derby as Lazio got Viktoria Plzen, while Roma were paired with Athletic Club.

If the Giallorossi qualify for the quarter-finals, they will meet the winner of Fenerbahce vs. Rangers, which means they could reunite with their former coach in April.

On the other hand, if they reach the quarter-finals, Lazio will meet the winner of Bodo/Glimt vs. Olympiakos.

Both Roma and Lazio would play the second leg of the quarter-finals at home, while the potential second-leg semifinal would be a home game for the Biancocelesti and an away meeting for the Giallorossi.
