Former Barcelona star Thierry Henry has revealed his take that Real Madrid are ‘scared’ of arch rivals Barcelona at present.

This of course comes after Hansi Flick’s troops made short work of the reigning Spanish champions in the season’s first Clásico over the weekend.

After making the trip to the Santiago Bernabéu for a crunch clash atop the La Liga table, Barcelona ran riot, on their way to an eventual 4-0 triumph.

The result sent shockwaves across all of Spanish football, amid what many perceived to be a changing of the guard at the summit of the country’s football pyramid.

And one individual who is in no two minds that a shift in mindset will have taken place behind the scenes in Madrid this past Saturday comes in the form of Thierry Henry.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of El Clásico, one-time Barcelona frontman Henry had the following to say on the balance of power in La Liga:

‘European teams fear Real Madrid and Real Madrid now fear Barca.’
