That's according to a recent report from Egyptian outlet Yallakora, which has revealed the news of Pulis' next destination following more than four years out of football.

The 67-year-old has enjoyed a storied career in the dugout, which has predominantly been spent in the Championship and the Premier League. Perhaps most synonymous with Stoke, Pulis helped the Potters to a first-ever top-flight promotion and his second spell in Staffordshire lasted seven years as the club established itself at the highest level.

Pulis has also undertaken stints with Crystal Palace, West Brom, Middlesbrough and most recently Sheffield Wednesday, the latter of which was his last job in management. The Welshman left Hillsborough in December 2020 and has not yet returned to the world of management, but he is now poised to return to football in a different capacity.

As per the aforementioned report, Pulis is in contention to return to football as Zamalek sporting director.

The report does state that a final agreement has not yet been reached, but it appears as though Pulis is set to land the role and he "will be present" for Zamalek's match against Pyramids.

It is said that Zamelek believe Pulis will "significantly add to the rearrangement and organisation of the entire footballing sector."

Should Pulis land the job, then much will be expected of him considering his pedigree and nous, which has been proven at the very highest level.

Zamalek is an interesting opportunity for Tony Pulis

It's certainly a left-field move by Pulis, and one which might leave supporters of the likes of Stoke and the Baggies scratching their heads at first.

However, Zamalek is a huge club by Egyptian standards and you can see why the opportunity has attracted Pulis.

Zamalek is one of the top 20 clubs with the most titles in world football, having won the Egyptian Premier League on 14 occasions, 28 Egypt Cups and five CAF Champions League titles.
