There's one player who is being forced out of Liverpool at the moment by Arne Slot after not getting enough first team opportunities.

Slot has made a brilliant start to his career as Liverpool's head coach. There's no denying that the Dutchman has assembled an exciting Liverpool side capable of fighting for the Premier League title.

He has very much maintained the same style of play and methods that were employed by Jurgen Klopp. But he has also made some changes that differ in the way Klopp handled things at Anfield.

One of the biggest changes is the lack of rotation in the squad. Under Slot, the Reds have picked up fewer injuries and have used fewer players in the first team squad.

Why Tyler Morton is being forced out of Liverpool

The above has meant that not everyone has been given a fair chance in the first team. Most notably, Tyler Morton, who is struggling to make the matchday squads for the Reds, let alone get on the pitch.

We saw him very briefly last week in the League Cup when he came on against West Ham and didn't misplace a single pass in his brief cameo.

Some even likened that cameo to Thiago Alcantara among the Reds' supporters on social media. And it's not the first time he has earned comparisons to the Spaniard either.

It's quite obvious that Morton is a huge talent. He showcased it even as a teenager against AC Milan, when he started at the San Siro a couple of seasons ago. In the aftermath of that game, Jurgen Klopp went onto way lyrical about his footballing brain.

“It was a big pleasure to watch the boy playing,” Klopp said in his post-match press conference at the time.

“The football knowledge, the football brain he showed tonight, was absolutely exceptional.

“If you are technically on that level – and he obviously is – and you then have such good orientation, then sometimes we have enough time to do good stuff.”

Sitting on the bench and playing U21 football will do Morton's development no good.

The Reds rejected offers for him in the summer. However, if they intend to keep him for the long-term, he needs to be given more minutes on the pitch.

Otherwise, he will have no choice but to leave for pastures new.
