Speaking exclusively with FLW, Lee Hendrie has been speaking on whether Farke may be moved on by Leeds in the summer if they miss out on promotion.

The pressure is certainly ramping up on Daniel Farke to deliver Premier League promotion with Leeds United this season.

The Whites head into Tuesday night's clash with Middlesbrough unbeaten in their last four, but that doesn't tell the true story of the mood surrounding Elland Road right now.

Three consecutive draws with QPR, Swansea City and most recently Luton Town respectively, has seen Farke's side drop out of the automatic promotion spots, and with just six games remaining, time is running out to reclaim their footing at the summit of the Championship.

Having seen their Premier League dream snatched away at Wembley Stadium last season, the expectation for this season was always to banish those demons, and retake their place among English football's elite.

"I feel that" - Lee Hendrie makes Leeds United, Daniel Farke future claim

Speaking exclusively with Football League World, we asked Sky Sports pundit and former player, Lee Hendrie: 'Do you think Leeds United could look to offload Daniel Farke this summer if he fails to deliver promotion two years in a row?'

Hendrie said: "He's proved that he can do it, and I actually thought that they would cruise to promotion this season.

"They've dropped off the pace of late, and the form has dipped. In forward areas, they aren't producing the goals like they had done prior to that, which puts that pressure on Daniel Farke.

"Yes, Leeds will be very frustrated and angry if they didn't get promoted this season. Just because they are a squad of players that have that depth, and you just feel that their home form has been excellent, their away form has been the one that's been a stuttering sort of situation this season.

"They haven't won enough games away from home, and that will all lie down to the manager. So, it wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't a promotion, that Daniel Farke probably would end up leaving the club.

"I feel that the fans will expect a definite promotion (next season) if not promoted this season. But again, if they are promoted, I think he will stay in the job for obvious reasons."

Daniel Farke will surely lose total faith of Leeds United supporters if promotion slips through their fingers

The relationship between Farke and the Leeds United supporters has always been a somewhat strange one.

Despite the fact he took the club to within 90 minutes of the Premier League last season, and has delivered a side that are the runaway top scorers in the division and a defensive record only bettered by Burnley, a large section of Whites supporters haven't ever truly warmed to him as their manager.

His slow build-up, possession-domination style has been the source of frustration from fans, who wish to see their attacking arsenal of players playing without somewhat of a handbrake on at times.

Much of Leeds' success has been through their relentless high-pressing approach, causing high numbers of turnovers in dangerous areas of the pitch, and it's that aspect of his system that many supporters love.

But, should Leeds once again miss out on top flight football for a second season running, it would be hard to justify sticking with the German coach - who has two second tier promotions on his CV from his time with Norwich City - given the levels of investment and quality that is in this squad.

Therefore, a fascinating few weeks lie ahead for Farke and Leeds, as either way, a massive stick or twist decision awaits the club's hierarchy in the summer.
