Ciro Ferrara, a former Antonio Conte teammate at Juventus, confirms the Italian tactician’s return to Turin is ‘very likely’ if he leaves Napoli.

Growing reports in Italy claim Conte is moving towards the exit door at the Stadio Maradona after just one season.

Sky Sport Italia reported on Sunday that Conte would leave the Partenopei next week, just a few days after winning his fourth Serie A title as a coach.

Conte is under contract with Napoli until 2027, but has already been heavily linked with a return to Juventus, where he won three Scudetti as a coach.

“If Antonio were to leave Napoli, it’s very likely that this would be the solution,” Ferrara told DAZN on Sunday, via Juventusnews24.

“I’ve never asked him about it, and I’m glad he hasn’t spoken to me about it. The important thing for Conte and Napoli is that the situation gets resolved quickly.”

Napoli have won their second Serie A title in the last three years, and multiple sources claim Massimiliano Allegri is their leading candidate to replace Conte.

Allegri already replaced Conte at Juventus in 2014. According to Gazzetta, the Partenopei are ready to offer the Livorno-born coach a two-year contract worth €6m per season if Conte walks out.

What Conte said after Napoli’s title win

“It happened again, and it’s something wonderful. When we got to the stadium, it was honestly difficult to get in, as I don’t know how many people were there. I had a slight thought, if we let these people down, it’d be something we carried with us for a long time.

“These lads were fantastic, it wasn’t easy, as the pressure on us was insane, but we faced the game in the best way. It has been an extraordinary campaign and the lads deserve the credit for wanting to challenge themselves again, especially those who won two years ago and then finished 10th last season.”
