It goes without saying that Barcelona have gone through a major transformation under the leadership of new coach Hansi Flick.
The team has simply dominated every competition it has played this season, with a key feature being their merciless attack that has taken opposition defenders by storm.
Now, Barcelona’s transformation under Flick is backed by statistics as well, as the Catalans lead Europe’s major leagues in a peculiar metric.
With 28 matches played in La Liga this season, Barcelona have scored a whopping 78 goals so far.
This amounts to a massive 23-goal improvement compared to the 54 goals netted by Xavi’s team at the same stage last season.

This difference of 0.82 goals per game translates to three more goals every four matches. And thanks to this, Barcelona are currently the most improved attacking team across Europe’s major leagues in a period of one year, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Sheer dominance by Barcelona’s offensive trifecta has had a big hand behind this transformation, with veteran forward Robert Lewandowski notably scoring 23 league goals this season.
Raphinha and Lamine Yamal currently stand with 13 and 6, respectively, whereas Ferran Torres has emerged as the club’s impact sub, with a total of eight league goals.
The total number of goals scored by forwards stands at 52 goals, which accounts for an improvement of 22 goals compared to last season.
These attackers were able to extend their tally in the recent win over Osasuna, where the likes of Lewandowski and Torres were able to find the back of the net.
The only team that comes close to Barcelona’s incredible attacking improvement is Mainz in the Bundesliga. The German side has seen a sharp uptick, with 05-ers scoring 21 more goals.
