Thanks to the effort Tottenham’s players have put in after so many setbacks, they have finally seen a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

The North London club delighted their fans this past Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United.

Despite the protests outside the stadium, the players’ spirits did not drop—at least according to boss Ange Postecoglou.

One of the standout performers in the match was, without a doubt, Djed Spence.

Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has kept a close eye on his old club and has frequently commented on their situation, particularly praising the young English full-back.

According to Tottenham News, Redknapp included Spence in his Team of the Week, alongside goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who returned after a long absence due to injury.

"Djed Spence has been a revelation in recent weeks for Spurs," he said. "It sounds crazy but one of the few positives of all these injuries is that he’s gotten so much game time and has made this position his own."

The 24-year-old’s rise with Spurs has largely been attributed to the club’s long list of injured players.

This is both good and bad news—while Spence has been able to prove his ability on the pitch, it is never ideal for the club to be dealing with injuries to key defenders.

The young Spurs talents making their mark on the pitch

Other young talents, such as Lucas Bergvall, have also made an impression both on and off the pitch like Spence.

A few matches ago, when Rodrigo Bentancur was visibly disheartened at full-time, it was Bergvall who reminded him to go and thank the fans who had come to support them.

Not long ago, the defender was struggling in a system that didn’t quite suit him, and his future at the club was uncertain.

However, with the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, things have changed. Whether due to good or bad circumstances, Spence’s talent is now finally being recognised.
