May is about to commence and AC Milan are yet to decide on their new sporting director, seemingly nowhere closer than a few weeks ago. On the manager front, however, there are some clear candidates.
Today’s newspapers highlighted the current situation for the Rossoneri, with a few sporting directors on their radar. However, with Igli Tare reportedly not convincing the CEO Giorgio Furlani, and Atalanta wanting to keep Tony D’Amico, it’s not an easy pursuit.
This is exactly what was pointed out on today’s front pages of Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport. In fact, Milan could give up on the sporting director pursuit altogether, keeping the current management structure as it is.
In the meantime, the head coach casting is plugging along and Maurizio Sarri is once again being mentioned as a concrete target. It’s a name that we have reported several times, most recently at the start of the month on SempreMilan Insider.
Gazzetta dello Sport
🧐 “Sarri is also one of the candidates for an Italian Milan.”
😲 “The Rossoneri could give up on a sporting director.”
Corriere dello Sport
1️⃣ “Milan: D’Amico in pole position.”
😬 “Atalanta are putting up a wall, they have no intention of letting the director leave.”
