Defender Yann Bisseck will be back fit for Sunday’s Serie A match between Lecce and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the German could even play in the centre of the back three.

Inter defender Bisseck has been out for the last few matches with an injury.

The 24-year-old picked up a thigh problem during the Supercoppa Italiana. Therefore, he has missed the last four matches between Serie A and the Champions League.

Prior to that, Bisseck had been a real stalwart at the back for Inter.

With Benjamin Pavard on the sidelines for several weeks, Bisseck started nearly every one of Inter’s matches in December.

Eventually, that took its tool as Bisseck suffered his thigh strain.

A return is now very much on the cards for Bisseck, however.

The Gazzetta confirm that the German is ready to make his return to full training today or tomorrow.

And in the meantime, Pavard is also back. The Frenchman returned this month from a thigh problem of his own, and has started Inter’s last couple matches.

Therefore, the injury crisis in defense has finally resolved for the Nerazzurri.

And according to the Gazzetta, this could enable Inter coach Simone Inzaghi to switch Bisseck’s position around a bit.

The newspaper report that the German would be an option in the centre of the back three, if Stefan de Vrij is in need of a rest.
