Yann Bisseck has come in for criticism for his hapless defensive display in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Inter Milan.

As TuttoMercatoWeb highlight, the player ratings for the match across Italian media took a negative view of the German.

Bisseck was in the Inter starting eleven yesterday.

This season, the 24-year-old has been just as much a part of the Nerazzurri starting lineup picture as Benjamin Pavard.

And Yann Bisseck has typically justified his selection with his performances. He has been a fairly reliable defensive presence for Inter, for the most part.

Against Fiorentina yesterday, however, Bisseck did not look up to par.

The German had plenty of space to step up and attack as Fiorentina sat back for much of the match. But he produced little of note going forward.

More importantly, at his main job of defending, Bisseck looked hapless.

With so much space both in front of and behind him, the German looked unsure positionally. His strength at defending the penalty area never really came to the fore, while a weakness defending counterattacks was apparent.
