Hemp wins October’s PFA Fans' Player of the Month award | OneFootball

Lauren Hemp has been named October’s PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Month.

It rubber-stamps a fantastic period for the England international who also claimed the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month and Etihad Player of the Month awards after scoring twice and claiming two assists across our three league outings since the end of September.

Her performances also helped Gareth Taylor’s side move to the division’s summit and remain unbeaten across our 10 outings so far this term in all competitions.

In our 2-0 win over West Ham which perfectly kicked-off October, she broke the deadlock when collecting Mary Fowler’s pass, keeping cool inside the box and poking home.

Her following tireless display against Barcelona in the Champions League crucially contributed to our 2-0 success at the Joie Stadium before she assisted the first of Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s two strikes at Anfield as we recorded a dramatic 2-1 win over Liverpool.

She then set-up another in our 3-2 win away to St Polten in Europe ahead of her instrumental display in our comeback triumph over Aston Villa to close the month.

After the Villans had taken the lead at the Joie Stadium, she cancelled out their opener with a classy lob after expertly flicking the ball into the air with her head.

Following her sublime strike, she then provided the assist to Jill Roord’s winner when producing a skilful run before teeing up the Netherlands international who then fired home.
