Dominic Solanke has revealed conversations he had with former Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane whilst on international duty with England.

The Bayern Munich goalscorer and Spurs' newest striker had the chance to catch up during October's international break, when Solanke was handed just his second ever cap for the Three Lions. Kane was ruled out of England's disappointing 2-1 defeat to Greece in the UEFA Nations League after picking up an injury, whilst Solanke arrived into the game in the 72nd minute to make his first international appearance since 2017.

The pair, despite not playing alongside each other in October, did brush shoulders during the nation's training camp.

"We spoke a lot while we were there together," the former Bournemouth forward told the Independent. "We have this [Tottenham] in common now, so we spoke and he is a great guy. A great lad to learn from.

"We were just speaking about his experiences and stuff like that. Obviously he has done so much in football and it's nice to pick his brain."

Solanke also took the time to detail Tottenham's start to the 2024/25 campaign after securing a 4-1 win over West Ham on Saturday.

"Before that Brighton game we were on a good run of form. We started that game well, maybe got a bit complacent so it was important we bounced back [against West Ham] and showed we had learned from it.

"I feel like I helped the team and it is important we all contribute in different ways. I didn't get the goal, which is obviously frustrating for me personally, but it was a great game and if we keep playing like this we'll be in a good place."

Tottenham will return to action when they face AZ Alkmaar on Thursday in the Europa League.
