After catching the eye during an impressive loan spell at SV Elversberg in the 2. Bundesliga, Muhammed Damar has committed his future to Hoffenheim by signing a new long-term contract.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder had drawn interest from several top-tier clubs after racking up nine goals and six assists in 31 league appearances.

However, Hoffenheim have successfully fended off that interest to retain the Germany Under-20 international.

"Mo is a highly talented player with exceptional technical ability and a great understanding of the game," said TSG Hoffenheim managing director for sport Andreas Schicker.

"His loan spell at Elversberg has been a full success for both sides. He became a regular starter in the 2. Bundesliga and consistently showed his quality at a high level. We’re thrilled that despite receiving a number of other high-profile offers, Mo has decided to commit his future to Hoffenheim. We’re convinced he’ll continue to develop positively and contribute to the team.”

Explaining his decision to remain at Hoffenheim, Damar said:

"I’m incredibly happy to have extended my contract with Hoffenheim. The club means a lot to me - I still know many players in the squad and staff members at the club, so I won’t need any time to settle in. This environment will help me perform at my best.”

Damar scored nine goals and provided six assists in 31 matches in the 2. Bundesliga in the 2024/25 season.
