The Ivorian has been in relatively good form since his move Stateside

The 2024/25 season ended up being one of mass frustration for those of a Middlesbrough persuasion, as they once again missed out on a place in the play-offs.

Despite investing heavily in both the summer and winter transfer windows, Michael Carrick's side couldn't replicate their top-six berth from the 2022/23 season, with a 2-0 defeat to Coventry City at the CBS Arena on the final day consigning the Reds to yet another season of Championship football.

Such is the expectancy that surrounds the Riverside Stadium outfit, given their previous exploits in the second-tier and in the Premier League, FLW exclusively revealed that the 43-year-old is facing the threat of the sack from owner, Steve Gibson.

Regardless of having such strong creative and attacking quality among the ranks, such as top-scorer Tommy Conway and Finn Azaz - with the latter registering double-figures for both goals and assists - many have pinpointed Boro's drop-off in form down to the injury of Liverpool loanee, Ben Doak, and the sale of Emmanuel Latte Lath to MLS outfit, Atlanta United.

The Ivorian was, unsurprisingly, a fan favourite during his one-and-a-half-year stint on Teesside after joining from Serie A side Atlanta in August 2023 for just north of £4m due to his clinical ability in front of goal which saw him end the Reds' current campaign as their third-highest scorer despite being sold for £22.5m on February 4th.

Featuring for an MLS side has often provided players with plenty of riches and a major wage hike compared to their previous clubs, despite the overall quality of the division being arguably nowhere near as strong as many European leagues. With that being said, FLW has looked at Latte Lath's pay increase at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium as a fresh revelation has emerged.

Emmanuel Latte Lath's estimated weekly wage during Middlesbrough FC spell

After moving from Italy, Latte Lath netted 16 goals during his first season in English football, which was an extremely respectable tally as Boro finished eighth on 69 points, four points behind Norwich City who occupied the final spot in the play-offs.

The two-time international also ended the season as the division's joint-fifth highest scorer alongside Haji Wright and Josh Sargent with the aforementioned tally, as he ended the campaign in red-hot form, scoring 11 goals in the final 12 games of the season, including braces against Hull City and Leeds United.

Latte Lath then netted Boro's first goal of this season in the 1-0 opening-day win over Swansea City at the Riverside, before continuing to play his role in a side known for scoring an abundance of goals, demonstrated with his only hat-trick in the Championship, which came in a 6-2 away rout at Oxford United on November 23rd.

After netting 29 goals and registering four assists in just 67 games for the club, the striker, who was ESTIMATED to be earning just £10,000 per week with over two-and-a-half years of his deal remaining would move to Georgia in a club-record sale. And, it's not hard to see why the opportunity couldn't be passed up.

Emmanuel Latte Lath's weekly earnings have shot up at Atlanta United

His aforementioned weekly salary in the North East saw him collect the same figure as Conway, Lukas Engel, Seny Dieng and Tommy Smith, which is £4,412 below the estimated average across Carrick's squad.

However, according to a fresh revelation from Teesside Live via a club source, Latte Lath was presented with a long-term contract and a salary as high as £70,000 per week at 'The Five Stripes' as the striker demanded to leave the club, with such figures, unsurprisingly ones which Boro couldn't match.

According to Capology, such figures would make him the highest earner in Ronny Deila's squad, and compared with the division he has just left behind, would put him on a par with Patrick Bamford's earnings at Leeds - the second-highest across the Championship behind Kelechi Iheanacho's wages, although given the aforementioned revelation, it's hard to imagine Gibson and co. at the Riverside paying a large proportion of that £75,000 weekly sum.

To his credit, Latte Lath has started well Stateside, scoring a brace on his debut against Montreal on February 23rd, before scoring thrice more in his opening 10 appearances, although Atlanta currently find themselves third-bottom of the Eastern Conference with 10 points from 11 matches.
