Champions to receive pre-match guard of honour from former title rivals at Anfield
No stakes: Liverpool have already sealed the Premier League title before hosting rivals Arsenal on Merseyside

Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield today in a battle of former Premier League title rivals.
The Gunners were Arne Slot’s side’s closest challengers for the championship all season, but ultimately just could not keep pace as they fell short painfully once more and watched their opponents seal the trophy with four games to spare.
It’s been another agonising week for Arsenal, who produced a valiant display in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tie away at Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night, but eventually slipped to a 2-1 defeat on the night that confirmed a 3-1 loss on aggregate as PSG teed up a date with Inter Milan in Munich on May 31.
To make matters worse still, they now go to Merseyside and will have to give Liverpool’s title-winning squad a guard of honour as per the long-standing top-flight tradition continued by Chelsea last weekend and also expected from Brighton and Crystal Palace before the end of the campaign.
Mikel Arteta’s side must rally themselves in the final weeks after a league slump that has coincided with their focus being solely put on Europe, while Slot will likely continue a rotation policy for Liverpool with the title in the bag, having made six changes for a 3-1 loss at Stamford Bridge.
