RedBird Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists Milan are ‘stronger’ thanks to five new January signings but insists he and the team are ‘not satisfied’ with results in the first part of the season.

The Rossoneri completed five signings in the winter transfer window, and one of them, Santiago Gimenez, was unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday.

“We are here to introduce the new Milan. We followed him a lot, we also tried [to sign him] in the summer, but there was no possibility. Today, he is here, and that’s the most important thing,” Ibrahimovic said via MilanNews.

The Rossoneri had already made an offer to sign Gimenez last summer, but Feyenoord rejected their proposal.

“He has great quality, he’s hungry to score goals. He reminds me of Camarda, they have the same hunger to score,” continued Ibrahimovic.

“If you don’t have it, you don’t have it. He’s good in the box and can help the team a lot. He will find a strong Milan, he’ll play with Leao, Pulisic, Reijnders, Walker, and many other players who can assist him. Don’t worry… Even Maignan knows how to make assists.

“He’s here to bring results. We hope he can leave good memories here. He’s in great hands to achieve success. We’ll take it one step at a time, we’ll help him. It always depends on the player; he just needs to focus on playing, and we’ll take care of the rest.”

Milan confirmed four new signings, including Gimenez, on the deadline day.

“Yesterday was an intense day, but always under control,” said Ibra

“I have to thank everyone because we did a great job and accomplished everything we wanted. We are not happy with our position in the standings, we made five signings and five players left. This is the team that needs to change the situation.”

Does this mean Milan have closed the gap with the top Italian sides?

“We have strengthened the team. If we’ve closed the gap, we’ll see,” argued the ex-striker.

“We did everything in agreement with the coach. In my opinion, we have improved the team a lot.

“Consistency has been missing. When you win, you gain more confidence, but if not, you have to start over and regain consistency,” he continued.

“We have ups and downs, but we are the only ones with a trophy. Milan always plays to win, and when it wins, it raises trophies.”

The Rossoneri have already changed their coach, while Walker and Gimenez are expected to become regular starters, replacing summer signings Emerson Royal and Alvaro Morata. The Spaniard has joined Galatasaray on loan in the January window.

“When we started the season, we believed in what we had done,” argued Ibrahimovic.

“We are not satisfied with the situation, so we decided to make changes and add several new additions. We are not happy. We have a trophy, but we are not satisfied. We want more, and we are hungry.

“Everyone arrived after speaking with the coach. We closed the deal for Sottil a minute and a half before the deadline, so I want to thank the lawyers and the secretariat for doing a great job. They are young, hungry, and hardworking.

“The market is dynamic. Sometimes, you push ahead to get results. I worked with the number one, Mino Raiola. Today, I realize how strong he was compared to others, no offence to anyone else.”

Lastly, Ibrahimovic sent a message to Milan fans who have been critical of directors and owner in recent weeks.

“The last league title we won was also thanks to the fans. We are stronger with the fans on our side; they are very important. We are working and doing everything to bring results. This team is stronger with the fans. We won the last title even though many thought we wouldn’t even make the top four, but we won with the support of the fans,” Ibra concluded.
