“I’d be shocked” – Paul Merson delivers prediction for Manchester City vs Chelsea | OneFootball

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has delivered his prediction for Manchester City’s next home game in the Premier League vs Chelsea on Saturday.

The two are now just one place apart in the league table and both battling hard for that all important top four place. Top five might also get you Champions League football this season, but top four guarantees it.

It’s very odd to see City down there behind Chelsea right now after a real slump in form from them. But they have a chance to leapfrog Chelsea in the league if they beat them in the 5.30pm kick off game in front of the cameras on Saturday evening.

Merson, who is a Chelsea fan by the way, is always a good source of score predictions and I believe he tends to come good with many of his calls. So it’s always worth listening to what he believes will happen.

And he thinks Chelsea will win and in fact, says he would be shocked if they don’t win.

“I think Chelsea beat Manchester City this weekend, I really do. Their energy, Cole Palmer getting in them little pockets, I think they will cause massive problems. I’d be shocked if they lost this game.”

It’s certainly a very bold call by Merson, but you can understand why he is saying it. City’s high line can easily be exposed, and Chelsea have very quick and clever attackers who will be able to exploit that. They’d need to make use of Jackson’s running as well and get him in behind or spinning the centre backs high up the pitch which is what he is very good at doing.
