Hugo Ekitiké has aroused interest from several Premier League clubs, and now Eintracht Frankfurt Sporting CEO Markus Krösche hints that the Frenchman may leave the Bundesliga club in the summer.
Speaking to Sport1, Krösche said: “He’s one of the most interesting strikers on the European market. Hugo has to decide that [ed. His future]. I’m glad we have him. If he decides otherwise, that’s our credo. If a player develops faster than us, we let him go.”
Although Ekitiké has a contract until 2029 and Eintracht Frankfurt have qualified for the Champions League, Sky Germany report that the Frenchman could still leave the Hessen club in the summer. In regards to his statement, Krösche referred to the sale of Omar Marmoush, who joined Manchester City for €80m including bonuses in January, midway through the season.
In addition to Marmoush, Randal Kolo Muani, Sebastien Haller and Luka Jovic are all strikers who left die Adler for substantial fees, and Ekitiké – who has scored 15 and provided nine assists this season – could be next with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United monitoring the player’s situation.
