Federico Dimarco, Matteo Darmian, and Nicola Zalewski will be waiting for Inter Milan fit on the other side of the international break.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight the end in sight for Inter’s injury crisis.
There is no hiding the fact that Inter Milan have an injury crisis at the moment,
Federico Dimarco, Matteo Darmian, and Nicola Zalewski are currently absent. Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto only just returned from a calf problem.
The issue has not so much been the number of injuries for Inter.
Rather, it has been the fact that all of them have concentrated on the wingback positions.
Inter have had only Denzel Dumfries available for several matches as a player whose natural position is out wide.
And until Augusto’s return, there was no natural left-wingback. Therefore, Alessandro Bastoni has had to deputize out of position on the left flank.
Inter will have to grit out one more match in their current condition.
And it will be a huge one. The Nerazzurri face Serie A title rivals Atalanta on Sunday.

Dumfries and Augusto should start that match on the flanks. And there will be no real options on the bench – a problem considering that coach Simone Inzaghi often likes to substitute the wingbacks.
But after the international break it should be a completely different situation.
All of Dimarco, Darmian, and Zalewski should be back. That will give Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi far more freedom to choose and rotate his squad.
