Inter are reportedly considering a contract extension for Marcus Thuram in order to fend off transfer interest from top clubs or at least strengthen their position in potential negotiations.
The France international, who joined the club in the summer of 2023, has been in stellar form, with 14 goals and 8 assists in 32 matches this season.

With his contract including an €85m release clause, which could be activated next summer, the Nerazzurri could be prompted to renegotiate personal terms with the striker in a new deal, especially after several clubs, including PSG, Manchester United, and Barcelona, have shown interest.
A price tag of €85m is considered relatively low given Thuram’s impressive performances, and according to Calciomercato.com, Inter are considering offering the Frenchman a new contract, removing the current exit clause and increasing his salary to reflect his improved status at the club.
The Biscione has already been partially reassured by the striker himself, who has expressed his commitment to the club, stating that while the release clause exists, he has no intention of leaving Inter unless it’s a mutual decision with the club.

However, the Nerazzurri believe that a contract extension would make it harder for other clubs to attract him while also guaranteeing them a higher income than his current release clause in the event of a departure.
