At the moment, Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito is on loan at Spezia in Serie B.

And it has been a very successful loan season for the 19-year-old.

Last campaign, Pio Esposito had found his feet his first season in senior football playing for the Ligurian club. But he had not been prolific in front of goal.

This time around has been a very different story.

Pio Esposito has scored fourteen goals so far over the course of the campaign. This makes him the top scorer in the Italian top flight at the moment.

The teenage striker’s goals have been vital for Spezia’s push for promotion to Serie A.

Inter Milan Already In Talks With Francesco Pio Esposito For New Contract

Inter Milan want to tie Pio Esposito down on a new contract.

The 19-year-old is a player who the Nerazzurri see as being a part of their long-term future plans.

However, there are also other clubs who would like to sign Pio Esposito.

Reportedly, Napoli made an offer for the 19-year-old. They didn’t want to sign him on loan – they want to sign Pio Esposito outright.

But Inter rejected that bid.

Meanwhile, from the Premier League the likes of Manchester United and Leicester City have reportedly expressed an interest in the young striker’s signature.

Given all of this, Inter want to have Pio Esposito sign a new long-term contract extension sooner rather than later.

And according to FCIN1908, the Nerazzurri have taken the first real step. Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio met with the teenage striker’s agent at the start of the month, after the match against Napoli.

The discussion was just a preliminary one, however. Further meetings will iron out the details including a pay increase for Pio Esposito.
