Simone Inzaghi feels that last weekend’s Serie A loss to Juventus can ultimately be helpful for Inter Milan.

Inzaghi spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He also argued that the Nerazzurri’s performances in big matches has been better than their record has suggested this season.

Inter Milan lost to Juventus in the Derby d’Italia last Sunday.

Losses to the Bianconeri are always especially difficult for Inter to take. The rivalry between the two clubs is a bitter and historic one.

Moreover, that match had presented the Nerazzurri with an opportunity to go top of the table ahead of Napoli after the league leaders had drawn away to Lazio.

Instead, Inter fell a further point behind the Partenopei.

Therefore, there was certainly a real sense of disappointment after last Sunday’s match.

However, it is not as though that loss has derailed Inter’s season altogether. Even with dropped points against the likes of Fiorentina and AC Milan earlier this month.

On the contrary, Inter Milan have the opportunity to recover right away against Genoa this evening.

Inzaghi: “Loss Vs Juventus Can Help Inter Milan”

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi admitted that “All losses hurt, certainly.”

“Considering how the match went, the one against Juventus was a bad loss,” he continued.

“But we will need it to help us improve.”

The Inter coach continued that “If we analyze these losses, my players have always creating a lot of chances to score.”

“Then you always have to consider what kind of opponent you have. And you don’t win some matches due to a matter of centimetres.”

Meanwhile, Inzaghi commented that “I think that this Inter have always had humility and ruthlessness.”

“The guys have been showing that for three and a half years. They always try to go beyond their limits, and get as far as possible in every competition.”

“Clearly many times the outcomes of matches are conditioned by individual episodes,” the Nerazzurri coach argued.

“In the most important matches, above all, you need to be perfect. In the last little while we haven’t been perfect. As was shown by the match against Juventus.”

Inzaghi noted that “This season the trend in big head-to-head matches hasn’t been as good as last season.”

“There’s no denying that.”

“But I’m convinced that, apart from the first derby in September, in the big matches we’ve had great performances overall.”

“Then, in the big matches we have to reverse the trend,” Inzaghi admitted. “As I said before.”

“We have to try to better.”

“But I repeat,” Inzaghi said. “In these matches the team has always created a lot of chances, so I’m calm.”
