Although Ipswich Town sit 18th in the Premier League table there is quality amongst their squad. Especially up front. Liam Delap will lead the line for Kieran McKenna’s side. The ex-Manchester City player has had a fine season. Delap has scored 8 goals this season but his overall performances have caught the eye. He has the pace and power to give Manchester City’s defence a major headache today. Players such as Omari Hutchinson, Jack Clarke and Nathan Broadhead could cause City’s defence troubles. Ipswich Town’s new signing, Jaden Philogene, is also a quality player on his day. Pep Guardiola’s side will have to be ready for the threat up front that Ipswich Town possess.

But like any team that sits 18th in the league table Ipswich Town do have their frailties. Their defence can be got at and their midfield can be an issue at times. If City can create the chances they should be able to prosper. But Manchester City’s midfield has been suspect this season. So the midfield battle could well decide today’s match.

Manchester City must be ready for the threat Ipswich Town could pose today. Especially at Portman Road. No game has been a formality for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, and we shouldn’t expect today’s game to be. But if City aren’t at their best they could be in for a tough match against a team desperate for all three points today.
