Olympique de Marseille sealed a vital win at the Stade Vélodrome on Sunday evening against FC Nantes (2-0), putting Les Phocéens three points ahead of Côte d’Azur rivals OGC Nice in the race to seal Champions League football – and more importantly bouncing back from what was a calamitous defeat against Auxerre last weekend (3-0).“I was really dreading this match because I feared the effect of the defeat in Auxerre. But we deserved the win. We had a lot of chances, even if it wasn’t our best match at the Vélodrome,” said Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi at a press conference attended by Get French Football News. “Yes, for me, it’s a game that can be decisive. But we didn’t win it by luck.”“We won because we did much more than our opponents. There are ten games left, and we can win them all with our heads, patience and intelligence more than anything else.”Les Olympiens have to deal with a test against a struggling Racing Club de Lens side next weekend, before travelling up to the French capital to face Paris Saint-Germain in the latest edition of the Classique.
