New Milan signing Joao Felix thanked San Siro for the ‘warm welcome’ after scoring on his debut with the Rossoneri on Wednesday.
The Portuguese striker joined Milan on loan from Chelsea on the deadline day and made his debut as a substitute in a Coppa Italia quarter-final clash against Roma at the Stadio Meazza.
He was introduced in the second half and didn’t take long to score his first goal for the Rossoneri, assisted by another new January signing, Santiago Gimenez.
Joao Felix took to social media at the end of the match to thank Milan fans after a perfect debut.
The Portuguese posted a picture of his celebration on Instagram and wrote in Italian: ‘Grazie per la calorosa accoglienza, San Siro,’ which means: ‘Thanks for the warm welcome, San Siro.’
Joao Felix emerged at Benfica before joining Atlético Madrid in 2019 for €126m. He spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Barcelona, scoring 10 goals in 44 appearances with the Catalans.
Milan do not have an option to make Joao Felix’s loan move permanent at the end of the season.
