For the longest time, Carlo Ancelotti has been quite vocal about his desire to keep coaching Real Madrid even as his future at Santiago Bernabeu hangs in the balance.

The Italian has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital countless times, but he has always remained firm in his desire to remain at the club and fulfull the terms of his contract.

Carlo Ancelotti reconsiders Real Madrid future

However, a fresh report from The Athletic suggests Ancelotti is not reconsidering his future at Real Madrid.

The report highlights that there are several factors seem to be weighing on Ancelotti’s mind. Talks have reportedly been held between Real Madrid and Xabi Alonso, the current Bayer Leverkusen coach, about a potential coaching role in the future.

Ancelotti is well aware of these discussions, which are believed to have unsettled him. Moreover, it appears the Italian is exhausted by the wear and tear accumulated over the past four years.

Additionally, his son and assistant coach, Davide Ancelotti, has decided to leave Madrid at the end of the season.

This decision, if followed through, would be a blow to Carlo Ancelotti, perhaps even forcing him to leave Santiago Bernabeu.

Further compounding the issue are the perceived leaks from within the club casting doubt on his future. Therefore, Ancelotti appears to be changing his stance, regarding his continuation at the club.

All of this comes in the midst of renewed interest from the Brazilian football federation (CBF), who remain determined to hire Ancelotti as the team’s head coach heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
