Bayern Munich are one of many European top clubs said to be interested in Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
They'd have to dig deep into their pockets to land the 21-year-old, with reports suggesting that a fee in the region of €150 million is likely to be demanded should Wirtz leave Bayer Leverkusen at some point in the future.
But as high as that fee is, Bayern have the financial means to pay it, according to the club's former chairman Oliver Kahn.
"Absolutely. It's no secret that FC Bayern can do a lot financially if they want to," Kahn told Sport1.
If Bayern wanted to sign Wirtz for significantly more than €100 million, they would probably have to "offload a few players in order not to exceed a certain budget," Kahn said.
“But I've seen a lot, the budget is quickly forgotten - the main thing is that the player comes.”
However, despite interest from Bayern and other top clubs, Kahn could see Wirtz extend his contract with Leverkusen beyond 2027.
"We had a lot of contact with him," said Kahn, looking back on his time as Bayern boss.
“He considers his moves very carefully. The whole world is open to him at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if he extended his contract.”
