Key Barcelona star left out of squad to face Valencia | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have named their squad to face Valencia on Sunday evening.

And it features one altogether noteworthy omission.

Barca are of course primed to return to action later tonight.

Fresh off a dominant Champions League downing of Benfica in midweek, the Blaugrana have turned their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, ahead of locking horns with Valencia.

Hansi Flick’s troops head into the matchup aware that nothing but a victory will suffice, having fallen a full 10 points off the pace being set by arch rivals Real Madrid atop the La Liga table.

As alluded to above, though, in efforts towards as much, Barcelona will be forced to make do without a key performer.

Upon the Catalans’ matchday squad being unveiled a short time ago, midfielder Pedri was nowhere to be seen:

As confirmed in an ensuing statement, as much comes with the 22-year-old suffering with what is described as a bout of ‘gastroenteritis’.
