Lautaro Martinez is now Inter’s all-time joint-top goalscorer in the Champions League following his winner in the 1-0 victory over Sparta Prague in Czechia on Wednesday night.

The Sparta winner was Lautaro’s 14th Champions League goal for the Nerazzurri, a tally only matched by the Brazilian Adriano.

The Argentine now needs just one more goal to become Inter’s leading goalscorer of all time in the Champions League. He has another game in this season’s league phase to do it, as will at least another two matches, whether that be in the round of 16 or in the play-offs.

It has taken Lautaro 51 Champions League matches to reach his tally of 14 goals. 39 of those games came as a starter. He also has six assists to his name in Europe’s flagship competition.

Following Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over Sparta Prague, Inter are now fourth in the Champions League standings, the highest ranked of any of the competing Italian teams, and require just one point against Monaco to mathematically guarantee a place in the top eight.
