Lazio have received a double boost ahead of Monday’s Serie A contest against Udinese, but Taty Castellanos won’t be available.
The Biancocelesti have made their return from the Czech Republic after securing a sensational 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 despite being reduced to nine men. Marco Baroni’s men have now resumed training at Formello, as they prepare for what will be an important league contest against the Friulians, especially amidst the tight race for 4th place.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Mattia Zaccagni and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru have rejoined their teammates in group training, signaling an imminent return to action. The Lazio captain was dropped from the Czech trip after picking up a slight calf problem, while the Nigerian midfielder had sprained his ankle a few weeks back during the stalemate against Venezia.
However, the 24-year-old is unlikely to start against Udinese, as Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi are set to keep their places in midfield. As for Zaccagni, he could get the nod if he manages to regain full fitness, while Pedro represents the backup solution. Moreover, Gustav Isaksen and Boulaye Dia will keep their spots.
As for the striker’s role, Tijjani Noslin and Loum Tchaouna will once again compete for a starting spot, as Taty Castellanos has yet to fully recover. The Argentine bomber is still working separately, so the source forecasts a return in Thursday’s second-leg encounter against Viktoria Plzen.
