The 30-year-old picked up a knock during the Serie A contest against Empoli on October 6th. Afterwards, the club announced that the player sustained a medium-grade muscle injury in the left thigh.

He was initially expected to remain out of action for at least one month, but according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazzari is pushing to return from injury before the end of October; while he will definitely skip the Europa League contest against Twente on Thursday, he might receive a call-up for the weekend clash against Genoa in Serie A.

Nevertheless, the Roman newspaper notes that a return against Como on October 31st is the most likely scenario. La Lazio Siamo Noi doesn’t expect the club to make a hasty decision, as the technical and medical staff prefer to remain on the safe side when it comes to muscle injuries in order to avoid any relapses.

The former SPAL has been a regular feature in Marco Baroni’s side since the start of the campaign, making seven appearances as a starter in Serie A.
