Lazio have reportedly set their sights on Racing Club centre-back Marco Di Cesare who is considered a star on the rise in Argentinian football.
The 23-year-old started his career at Argentinos Junior, climbing his way up the club’s ranks to become a regular feature with the first team. The Mendoza native then made the switch to Racing in January 2024, and has been a stalwart at the back ever since. This season, he has made nine appearances thus far in all competitions, finding the back of the net on a solitary occasion.

As exclusively revealed by football journalist Ekrem Konur, Di Cesare has caught the attention of Lazio who are now prepared to spend €7 million to secure his services. The Argentina U23 international also has a release clause set at €13 million, but the Biancocelesti will try to secure an agreement with Racing on lower figures rather than activating this clause.
The centre-back also holds an Italian citizenship, so he wouldn’t command a non-EU spot.
Lazio have already signed a new defender in the form of Oliver Provstgaard, a 21-year-old Dane who joined the club in January but has yet to make his debut. However, there could be room for more additions at the back, especially with Mario Gila attracting a host of European suitors, while Patric and Samuel Gigot are facing uncertain futures.
