A recent report by Jorge Picon (h/t RM4 Arab) reveals an intriguing development in Brazilian football.
Ronaldo Nazario, the legendary former striker, is considering appointing Carlo Ancelotti as the head coach of the Brazilian national team if he becomes president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) in March 2026.
It is said that Ronaldo views Ancelotti as the perfect candidate to guide Brazil back to international glory. The Italian tactician has consistently expressed his loyalty to Real Madrid, stating that he will remain with the club as long as they want him.
Despite this commitment, several admirers, including Serie A side AS Roma, are eager to bring Ancelotti on board if he ever parts ways with the Spanish giants.
Ronaldo, who was coached by Ancelotti during his time at Milan, is among those eyeing the Italian manager. If elected as CBF president, Ronaldo reportedly plans to pursue Ancelotti, given their strong relationship and the coach’s impressive track record.

This move would achieve what current president Ednaldo Rodrigues has long sought without success. Rodrigues made numerous attempts to secure Ancelotti’s services for the national team.
At one point, he was willing to appoint an interim coach while waiting for Ancelotti to complete his contract at Real Madrid. However, a contract extension with the Spanish club in December 2023 derailed these plans.
While there have been no formal negotiations yet, Brazil continues to closely monitor Ancelotti’s situation.
The idea is not to lure him away from Madrid but to be in a favourable position if the club chooses to part ways with him or if his contract expires.
With over a year remaining until the elections, Ronaldo is actively preparing his campaign. One of his key supporters is FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
Ronaldo aims to make a bold statement with his candidacy, and appointing Ancelotti as Brazil’s coach could be a game-changing move in his vision to restore the national team’s dominance on the global stage.
