We are ranking all members of the Liverpool first-team squad throughout the 2024-25 season with updates at the end of each matchday.

23. Harvey Elliott

Should have been a key player in the midfield this term following a fantastic pre-season but only played single-digit minutes in the Premier League before injury ruined his season.

22. Tyler Morton

A player whose career has stagnated this season following decent progress at Hull City last term. Might be wishing the club either sold him or loaned him out given his awesome potential and lack of minutes.

21. Kostas Tsimikas

Every time he steps on the pitch it's a reminder that he's not up to the task of deputising for Andy Robertson let alone dislodging him. Upgrade required.

20. Jarell Quansah

Was given the starting shirt at the outset of the Premier League season having dislodged Ibrahima Konaté towards the end of the previous campaign. A poor 45 minutes versus Ipswich saw him hauled off at half time and he's been waiting to get back in since.

19. Joe Gomez

Came close to leaving the club last summer with his status as longest-serving player under immediate threat. Will only start on the rare occasion the first-choice defenders, and Jarell Quansah, cannot. A Klopp favourite now sadly out of favour.

18. Wataru Endō

His stock has fallen dramatically from last season when he established himself as a favourite of fans and club management alike. Almost sold in the summer, his days are numbered.

17. Federico Chiesa

Was clearly unfit when he signed and Arne Slot still doesn't believe he can last 90 minutes. Signed as a relief pitcher for Mohamed Salah.

16. Curtis Jones

A fine midfielder who nonetheless suffered a stop-start beginning to his career under Arne Slot. Will have to maintain regular fitness in order to challenge for a starting spot. Has been excellent against both Manchester United and West Ham.

15. Caoimhín Kelleher

Had 25 matches last season, rarely letting Liverpool down. Failed in his attempts to escape the club last summer and prove himself as a No.1 elsewhere. Another season on the sidelines - and deputising for Alisson when infirm - beckons.

14. Conor Bradley

Always reliable as a deputy for Trent Alexander-Arnold, even if the vice-captain doesn't always appreciate being replaced. Will be given starts in the EFL Cup -  and elsewhere only in the event of an injury or suspension for Trent.

13. Darwin Núñez

Clearly out of favour at the start of the season following a difficult summer. Took his chance against Bournemouth with a goal but hasn't really shone since.

12. Cody Gakpo

Would probably be higher up the list if he could command more minutes. Unfortunately, Luis Díaz stands in his way. Will have to bide his time a little longer for a regular starring role.

11. Dominik Szoboszlai

A player who should be hitting double digits in goals and assists from his attacking midfield berth, the Hungary captain has been effective but has yet to add those De Bruyne-like numbers to his game. Slot has asked for more from the €60m man.

10. Andy Robertson

Has been rotated out of the lineup on occasion this season to permit Kostas Tsimikas to take over. Not always been at his marauding best either.

9. Diogo Jota

Liverpool's third-highest goalscorer this term after Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz but has struggled to make an impact at times. Lost his place to Darwin Núñez in the league but has bounced back with goals.

8. Alisson Becker

There is no question that Alisson remains one of the finest goalkeepers on the planet but the question marks are less about ability than they are about availability. Quite simply put, he has been missing too many games and that spells danger for goalkeepers.

7. Mohamed Salah

A sign of how normal Mo's goalscoring brilliance now seems that he lies only seventh on this list? He has started the season in imperious form in front of goal.

6. Alexis Mac Allister

A vital component in Arne Slot's new-look midfield and the perfect template for what the head coach expects in the position. Has adapted to life tremendously, contributing on the ball and putting fires out on the counter attack.

5. Ibrahima Konaté

Inconsistent and injured would be the way to sum up Ibou's Liverpool career up until last summer, culminating in him losing his place in the France XI. But he has been exceptional for the Reds, one moment at Wolves aside. Has also added goals to his game.

4. Virgil van Dijk

Showing no signs of slowing down as the Reds' key defensive leader and still carries a characteristic threat from set-pieces. A new contract remains away in the distance however.

3. Trent Alexander-Arnold

Where would Liverpool be without this man's contributions? Let's hope we don't find out next season. Appears to have taken his attacking game to new heights this term and has taken strides to improve his defending.

2. Luis Díaz

The work Arne Slot has put in with Colombia winger Díaz has paid off. At one stage he would be sold off last summer as a failed Jurgen Klopp signing but he has bounced back with a vengeance.

1. Ryan Gravenberch

A revelation. When Liverpool missed out on Martin Zubimendi over the summer, many fans feared the worst. Gravenberch has looked like a new man under compatriot Arne Slot, carrying off multiple player of the match awards.
