Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has been criticized after the capital club lost 2-0 to Arsenal on Tuesday night at Emirates Stadium. One pundit believes that the Spanish tactician wants to recreate what he previously had.

On Monday, Paris Saint-Germain made a big decision ahead of their match against the Premier League side. Manager Luis Enrique left Ousmane Dembélé out of the squad for the trip to North London.

Enrique’s decision was a blow to PSG’s attack, especially considering Dembélé’s impressive form this season. The 27-year-old has contributed four goals and four assists in seven matches across all competitions, so his absence was felt.

Pep Guardiola has become a benchmark in management. Thanks to his possession-based play style and tactical decisions in hybrid team formations, which have often proven effective.

He has inspired many of his fellow Spaniards, including Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and Luis Enrique at FC Barcelona and now at PSG. However, Emmanuel Petit believes that Enrique is making a significant mistake.

“[Enrique] wants to bring his Barça project to Paris, but he doesn’t have the right players for certain positions,” Petit said (h/t Le10Sport). “Most importantly, he doesn’t have [Andrés] Iniesta, [Lionel] Messi, Xavi, or Luis Suarez. He needs to realize that Barça was a different time. To keep playing this way, you need the right profiles.

“He’s limiting and frustrating some players, like Nuno Mendes. I’m feeling frustrated and angry. I knew Arsenal was better, but I expected Luis Enrique to show a bit more humility, especially after what happened with Ousmane Dembélé.”
