Matt Bloomfield's connection with Joe Low could see him make a move to Luton Town.
Luton Town's disappointing 2024-25 season may have been given a shining light, with the Hatters' hierarchy appointing Matt Bloomfield on Monday (13th January) afternoon.
The former Wycombe Wanderers boss had been enjoying a stellar campaign at Adams Park, guiding the Chairboys to an impressive second place after 25 games.
Defying expectations, those at Wycombe were hoping that Bloomfield would continue his work, but the Luton project proved too appealing, and their new boss will be looking to steer them to safety.
Currently, the Hatters are sitting in 20th place, two points above 22nd-placed Portsmouth and a run of four defeats has put them in deep trouble.
The main issue lies in their defence, which has struggled significantly, conceding 44 goals in 26 games - the second-worst defensive record in the division.
Bloomfield will be looking to resurrect this concern in January, and he would be well-suited to returning to his former club to pick up the ever-reliable Joe Low.

The last thing that Wycombe fans will want to see is more players depart, but with new owner Mikheil Lomtadze happy to spend the money, cashing in on Low this January may not be a bad idea.
Already, they have made the £500,000 defensive addition of Anders Hagelskjær from Molde in Norway and have also added Sonny Bradley to their squad.
So, while Low has been crucial this term, if they were to lose him, you can be certain that Lomtadze would act swiftly to strengthen the squad in the transfer market.
This would leave Luton free to target Low, who has been the subject of interest from Luke Williams' Swansea City this January.
According to Football Insider, the Swans have already seen two bids rejected with the fees reportedly in the region of £500,000 and £600,000.
While Williams has to work under a more strict budget, Bloomfield won't and offering whatever fee is required for his signature would be a smart move.
Not only does this move make sense for Luton, but from Low's perspective, it would be a natural progression, with the player already familiar with Bloomfield's system and expectations, making it an ideal step-up in his career.
In addition, while the Hatters are struggling at the moment, they possess the quality within their ranks to turn things around, and next season, with the right additions, they could be back competing at the top end of the table.

Having operated with a back three under Rob Edwards, it seems most likely that Bloomfield will revert to a back four. However, he is open to using a three-man defence, as demonstrated during his time at Adams Park.
Low would fit supremely into either of these systems and his natural ability on the ball combined with his defensive nous would make him an ideal target for Luton.
Looking at his underlying statistics this term, the centre-back ranks high in several key metrics, such as aerial duels and recoveries. However, he also poses a threat in the opposition box, having netted eight times since signing from Bristol City in 2023.
This would be of use to Luton, with their 560 crosses so far this campaign ranking third in the division, according to FbRef. In addition, they have produced the fourth most corners, which Low would thrive upon if signed.
In truth, the centre-back is a signing that makes perfect sense, with his potential at just 22-years-old offering a bright future for not only him but the club.
