The next crisis never seems too far away on the red half of Manchester, so you can only whisper the next few words, but are United on the up again?

There was some fortune in the way they prevailed at Craven Cottage last week, but the measured nature of their victory in Bucharest on Thursday was oddly serene. No drama. No chaos. A professional 2-0 win saw them into the Europa League round of 16.

Up next for Ruben Amorim's Red Devils is a Premier League bout against Crystal Palace which kick-starts a much quieter February.

There should be changes from Thursday's win in the Romanian capital, and here's how United could line up on Sunday.

GK: Andre Onana - The gap between Onana and his number two may be closing, but he remains Amorim's number one and he'll be back in the XI for Palace's visit.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt - De Ligt started at the heart of United's back three on Thursday, and that role does suit him more in this set-up. However, if Amorim wants to retain the Dutchman on Sunday, he may have to shift out to the right.

CB: Harry Maguire - There was that misjudgment late on against Rangers, but Maguire's otherwise been a force under Amorim and he'll be fresh after failing to come on in midweek.

CB: Lisandro Martinez - The fortunate goalscorer last Sunday is starting to return to his best form in United colours and was brought off on Thursday with this fixture in mind.

RWB: Noussair Mazraoui - The steady Moroccan was utilised in the back three but could return to his more advanced role given Amorim's ability to rotate at centre-back.

CM: Manuel Ugarte - Rotated out of the team in midweek, Ugarte has been a near constant presence in the Premier League under Amorim.

CM: Bruno Fernandes - Fernandes has come into his own over the past month, with Amorim having success utilising his skipper in a deeper role which requires greater responsibility.

LWB: Diogo Dalot - Dalot was on the scoresheet on Thursday and has had some success down both flanks under the new manager. He could switch over to the left and battle it out with Daniel Munoz on Sunday.

AM: Kobbie Mainoo - Amorim's comments after Mainoo's performance in Bucharest point towards on obvious selection call on Sunday: “In number ten, Kobbie felt more happy to play. I felt it watching him, he was so happy on the pitch, and that is important for me. If you’re happy, you play better!”

AM: Amad Diallo - It looks like Diallo will be working with a different playmaker between the lines on Sunday with Mainoo poised to join the frontline. The Ivorian came off the bench in United's win over FCSB.

ST: Joshua Zirkzee - Man Utd's striker situation is not ideal, and they may bring in another option before the deadline slams shut. After Rasmus Hojlund huffed and puffed without much reward on Thursday, Zirkzee may get another gig.
